Keon Lincoln Murder Update: Boys aged 14 and 15 appear in court accused of murder

Two teenage boys charged with murder of schoolboy Keon Lincoln have been remanded in custody until next month.

The 15-year-old died of gunshot and stab wounds after an incident in Linwood Road in the Handsworth area of Birmingham on January 21.

Two youths have beem accused of his murder after being charged by West Midlands Police.

A 14-year-old from Birmingham and a 15-year-old from Walsall – who cannot be named for legal reasons – appeared at Birmingham Crown Court on Wednesday by video link from separate secure youth detention facilities in the West and East Midlands.

The teenager from Birmingham is also charged with possession of a firearm and the Walsall youth is charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

Appearing before Judge Paul Farrer QC for a 10-minute hearing, both boys were told to reappear in court next month to enter pleas to the charges.

The judge told the pair: “Your case will next be before the court on March 5th, when the court will hear further directions towards the case becoming ready for trial.

“I have fixed a trial date for the 5th of October this year, that being the earliest date when a suitable judge will be available to try this case.

“In the meantime, you are both remanded in custody to youth detention accommodation.”
