The pregnant girlfriend of a young man who was stabbed to death in North London has said he was “so excited about being a father”.

Tyreke Watson, 21, died after being stabbed on West Green Road, near Turnpike Lane, Tottenham at around 4pm on Monday (February 22).

His partner Oneica Williams, 23, told the Evening Standard how they were expecting their daughter in May.

They were deciding a name when Tyreke was killed, the devastated girlfriend said.

She said: “Tyreke was an amazing partner and did his best to make me happy.

“He was so excited about being a father. Not only do his family and I need justice, but so does our unborn child.”

In a touching tribute, Oneica made online, she said: “I just want you to come back. I can’t do this without you babe.

“Still waiting on my morning phone call from you. I’m dying.”

Tyreke’s family are said to be ‘”devastated” by his death.

A 21-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection to the fatal stabbing.

This latest tragic knife attack happened just metres away from where 17-year-old Anas Mezenner was stabbed to death on the same street on January 19 this year.

Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley, leading the investigation, said: “This is a fast-paced investigation and my team of detectives is determined to locate and arrest those responsible for the fatal stabbing.

“Tyreke’s family have been left completely devastated by his death and I would urge anyone who witnessed the attack or who has any other information about this case to contact police.”
